Daily Life

Augmented reality is on the cusp of being one of the technological advances that are all but guaranteed to change our
day-to-day behavior.

Augmented Retail

Augmented reality has already found early use in the $30 billion digital sector of the home furnishings market with AR applications (aka "augmented retail") from many companies, including Ikea, Wayfair, Lowe’s, and Williams Sonoma.

Augmented Reality Capability

Augmented software for smartphones by Apple and Google had over one billion AR-capable devices in the market by the end of 2018.

That number is expected to grow to 4.25 billion devices by 2020.

Global Spendings on AR

Global spending on AR and virtual reality technology will grow from $11.4 billion in 2017 to $215 billion in 2021. It is forecasted to be nearly $20.4 billion in 2019.

"Forward-thinking companies continue to move aggressively to embrace both augmented and virtual reality technologies, new hardware and software launches in 2018 are driving new use cases and improving the viability of existing ones. We expect more new products from major vendors to appear in 2019, helping to drive innovation at greater scale going forward.”
