Instagram is now testing new AR 'try on' ads with selected advertisers

Instagram is also stepping up their game by incorporating AR into their advertisements. With certain advertisers, Instagram is testing new “try ons” that use AR to allow people to try on products before buying. “Try on” experiences are also shareable through Instagram Stories. This new feature is a fun, modern way to effectively advertise.


Examples of ‘try on’ advertisements include:

    -Makeup brands like Mac and Nars allowing you to try on lipstick shades and other makeup

    -Eyewear brands like Ray-Ban, Michael Kors and Warby-Parker allowing you to try on varieties of sunglasses and reading glasses


All the new “try on” AR that companies have been providing for their products is a great and convenient way to digitally promote a product to customers. AR is a great way to advertise in today's new digital age.
